FUNDRAISER FOR NEW WANAQUE BOROUGH SIGN
sign being stolen on a regular basis?
We want to build one that is quite a bit
harder to damage.
Our goal is to raise enough money to build
TWO (2) new signs. One to replace
the one on the South end of town that
has been vandalized for the second time
and a new one a bit smaller on the North
end of town. The location for the new
one has yet to be determined.
We are selling DONOR BRICKS. The bricks we sell will be on the back of the sign
not the front. We feel that this is important enough to the community that the
donors don’t mind being out of direct view. We hope you feel that way too!
Our target to 200 bricks. One hundred for each sign. Gold Sponsor Bricks are
$100 and you have several choices of how you want to engrave it. Silver
Sponsor Bricks are $40. A Silver Sponsor will get one line of text and share
the brick with two other Silver Sponsors.

The redevelopment project proposed by Haskell Town Center consist of a 49,000 Square foot / 3 story Commercial / Medical / Professional office building. The first floor will be devoted to Retail / Commercial and Restaurant uses. The Second and Third Floors will have office space for Medical and Professional offices.

Senator HENRY P. MCNAMARA has co-sponsored a bill that was the idea of out late Mayor Warren Hagstrom. It would allow a town to seek or directly fund VFW and American Legion Halls. Mayor Hagstrom had wanted to re-direct income from Wanaque to the local Veteran's groups to help maintain their buildings. NJ law prevented it and that is the law their are seeking to change.

This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill permits local units of government to make appropriations to posts of the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) located within the local unit, to contribute to the support of those posts and to ensure the proper observance of memorial and other patriotic holidays.
R.S.40:23-8 is amended to read as follows:
Any county may make appropriations to posts of the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) located within the county, to contribute to the support of those posts and to ensure the proper observance of memorial and other patriotic holidays.
R.S.40:48-9 is amended to read as follows:
Any municipality may make appropriations to posts of the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) located within the municipality, to contribute to the support of those posts and to ensure the proper observance of memorial and other patriotic holidays.
